Doug Ford is using unappealable special powers to override environmental protections for wetlands to pave the way (literally & figuratively) for development by major Ontario Progressive Conservative and Ontario Proud donors. And he’s retroactively changing laws to make it happen.

This is Kafkaesque.

Why is Ford hellbent on issuing Ministers’ Zoning Orders to fast track development projects on ecologically sensitive areas?

As CBC Queen’s Park reporter Mike Crawley points out, there’s something odd about the government throwing its weight behind development on protected wetlands for a Fortune 50 (Amazon???) warehouse. Meanwhile, there’s a suitable alternative a few hundred metres away...
