It’s laudable to provide legal services pro bono, but we cannot lose sight of the systemic barriers to access to justice. Many practitioners already serve middle and low-income communities for little to no money, in crucial areas of law such as family, criminal, and immigration.

Pro bono work is part but not all of the solution.
